Watch-outs · 8 recorded

Rooms with attic/mansard ceilings feel cramped and claustrophobic, with awkward sloped walls, limited headroom, and small windows that restrict natural light and airflow. (8×)
Standard and budget rooms are significantly smaller than advertised, creating minimal space for luggage and two people, especially when paired with narrow stairs to upper floors. (12×)
Bathroom glass walls provide virtually no privacy between bedroom and toilet/shower—guests feel exposed despite slatted blinds, which is uncomfortable even for couples. (10×)
Motion-activated bathroom lights cannot be disabled, triggering at night and illuminating the entire bedroom, severely disrupting sleep for guests and their partners. (9×)
Air conditioning system has inconsistent cooling performance—some rooms overheat on upper floors while others are cold, and AC minimum temperature limit of 21°C is too high with no fans available. (8×)
Breakfast quality and variety have declined significantly since the hotel's opening years, becoming minimalistic and featuring cheaper ingredients, cold food, and inconsistent replenishment. (7×)
WiFi frequently drops intermittently throughout rooms despite paying premium rates; hotel staff claim nothing can be done about persistent connectivity issues. (5×)
Hotel management is unresponsive to maintenance issues, with staff dismissing problems like broken ventilation, non-functional safes, and electrical failures without repair or compensation. (6×)

Flags & notes
Parking note. Problematic — Hotel has no on-site parking; guests must use public lot 4-5 blocks away with documented difficulties exiting due to license plate recognition failures and inconsistent pricing (€3-€10 per day).

What the trend suggests

Emerging issue2026-06 – 2026-0775% confidence
Air conditioning and climate control complaints appear with increasing frequency in recent months (2026-Q2 and 2026-Q3), with guests reporting inability to cool rooms below 21°C and lack of fans. This contrasts sharply with earlier periods (2017–2025) where AC was praised as functional and controllable. The emergence of multiple AC-related 1–2★ reviews in 2026-Q2 ('air conditioning in my room was not working properly', 'air conditioner cannot cool room below 21°') suggests a potential system degradation or maintenance issue distinct from the hotel's earlier operational standard.
Emerging issue2026-06 – 2026-0772% confidence
WiFi connectivity complaints emerge in 2026-Q2, with at least one 1★ review citing persistent WiFi drops ('WiFi won't stay connected from room... kept dropping intermittently'). This is notably absent from earlier review snippets spanning 2017–2025, where internet reliability was either praised or unmentioned. The sudden appearance of this technical complaint in recent months may indicate infrastructure strain or degradation.

What guests report

View
Rooms facing Pilies Street (main Old Town street) offer best views; rooms with windows overlooking internal courtyards or wells have poor/limited views; top-floor attic rooms have skylight windows but restricted views.
Bed & mattress
Beds are exceptionally comfortable and high-quality with firm mattresses; pillows are soft and flat (some guests found them non-ergonomic).
Bathroom & water
Modern bathrooms with excellent water pressure, consistent hot water, and Italian walk-in showers; heated bathroom floors are a standout feature; however glass walls lack privacy.
Wi-Fi
WiFi frequently drops and disconnects intermittently despite premium pricing; hotel staff claim technical issues cannot be resolved.
Breakfast
High-quality, fresh ingredients with excellent variety including prosecco, cooked items, cold meats, cheeses, baked goods; staff replenish until 10:00 AM; however quality has declined from earlier years and some items served cold.
AC / heating
Air conditioning is inconsistent—upper floors overheat, lower floors are cold; minimum temperature capped at 21°C with no fans provided; controls are complex and require instruction card.

Local knowledge

Request a room away from the main reception/lobby area to avoid street noise, light bleeding from reception, and sounds of other guests in corridors.
Book a business or superior room rather than a standard room—they are significantly larger and worth the upgrade despite the higher price.
Bring or ask for blackout curtains; standard curtains do not fully block external light or motion-activated bathroom light bleeds.
For parking, use the Europark lot at Šeimyniškių St. 30A or nearby Europark; the hotel will register your license plate and you pay ~€3–€10/day at checkout.
Breakfast is served until 10:00 AM (some days 10:30 AM)—arrive early if you want full selection, as hot items are often depleted by 9:30 AM.
Bring your own bottled water; the provided charcoal-filtered water bottles are decorative but one guest reported getting sick drinking tap water despite assurances.
The bathroom light has a motion sensor that cannot be disabled—it will trigger in the middle of the night and illuminate the entire room; ask staff for solutions or use the slatted blind.
Rooms lack mini-fridges and full-size wardrobes; request these items in advance if essential, as the hotel sometimes provides them upon request.
